What are cowboy boots?

Agust Hauksson

Cowboy boots are a special kind of boot that a lot of people
wear today. Cowboys do not only wear them anymore. They do not
only wear them in the south and on a farm, people are also
wearing them these days as dress shoes or as everyday shoes. The
design of cowboy boots is unique and distinct. They are
certainly a great shoe for anyone to wear either in a more
dressed up look or on a regular basis.

Cowboy boots have a high and rounded heel and also have a
pointed toe. There are no laces to deal with and no straps to
tighten. Most of the boots that are around are made from
leather. They can be from just about any kind of leather. Most
of the brands are from cowhide, or genuine leather. In addition,
some are constructed out of exotic skins like snake, lizard, eel
and alligator. These are going to be the more expensive boots in
their class.

There are boots to be found in any color. You can get the normal
black or brown and there are also other colors to choose from as
well. Many of the exotic skinned boots come in other colors like
white, gray, tan or even red. Cowboy boots are designed for the
easy insertion of a horse rider's foot into the stirrup of a
saddle on a horse. This is why most of the boots have a pointed
toe. However, the styles are changing and there are some of the
boots that are becoming more rounded at the toe.

Although the shoes are mounted, the tall heel of the boot is
what prevents the foot from sliding out of the stirrup. If this
were to happen to a cowboy on a horse, it could be very
dangerous. However, when the cowboy is dismounting from the
horse, the smooth sole of the shoe is what allows the boot to
easily come free from the stirrup. The tall shaft of the boot is
what helps to hold the boot in place. There are no laces that
are needed to use on a boot.

The shaft of the cowboy boot is also going to be used to protect
the leg from getting scratched or bumped while riding or
working. In the south, it was very normal for the farm workers
to wear cowboy boot while they were working. There are many
people who still use these boots as their everyday work boots.
They find them very comfortable and easy to work in.

With more and more people wearing cowboy boots on a regular
basis, there are more and more companies coming out with newer
styles. You can find these great boots just about anywhere and
in any store. Since they are becoming so popular, cowboy boots
have even come down in price and you can find a great pair for
an affordable price.

Tips On How To Buy Golf Shoes And Apparel

Jim Johnson

Wearing the right golf apparel can have a large impact on how
much you enjoy the game. Really, you should consider the
clothing that you wear for each round as part of your golf
equipment. It's just that important!

Acceptable golf apparel has changed radically over the years
since golf's birth, as early golfers used to wear jackets and
ties as they went around the course. In fact, many modern-day
observers of the game feel that the kind of restrictive clothing
that the early golfers wore had an adverse impact on their
scores, simply because the apparel did not allow for much
freedom of movement.

As golf continue to make progress and become more popular, the
styles began to change and knickers became very popular for a
long time. In the 1960s and and 1970s a shift to more
comfortable clothing was made by many of the top players,
although some of the styles would be considered loud by today's
standards.

Since that time, a lot of progress has been made in developing
fabrics and materials for golf apparel that make the game more
comfortable to play under most conditions. And so today, there
is a wide range of style that is acceptable on most golf
courses, as the emphasis has shifted more to comfort instead.

Many of the newer, more modern fabrics are very good at wicking
moisture away from the skin as we perspire. This has a tendency
to make the golfer feel much more comfortable as they complete
their round. So when looking for golf apparel, try to look for
some of these newer fabrics as they will most likely have a
positive effect on your enjoyment of the game. And make sure to
buy golf apparel that will allow for easy, freedom of movement
throughout your swing.

Golf shoes are an important part of your ensemble, as they not
only contribute toward your appearance but also can
substantially help improve your game. The golf swing calls for a
lot of torque and motion in your body as it rotates to build
that the energy needed for the golf shot. And because of that
rotation, it's very easy for your footing to slip out of place.
Having a good set of golf shoes helps solve that problem by
anchoring your feet to the ground instead.

These days, golf shoes come in all kinds of styles and designs
so it's easy to find something that fits your personality. But
the most important part of the golf shoe is what is underneath
that holds you to the ground. In the past you could expect to
see metal spikes on the bottom of almost every golf shoe made,
but more modern golf shoes employ dimpled plastic spikes instead
that still do a good job of giving you a solid foundation for
your swing, and yet are easier on the golf course itself.

Another piece of golf apparel that should not be overlooked is a
rain suit, as it's very easy to encounter rain in most parts of
the country while you are playing a round of golf. If you happen
to be far away from the clubhouse when the rain begins, having a
good rain suit to put on can be really handy.

If you use the practical considerations that are listed above
for golf apparel and golf shoes you should be able to make a
good choice on the golf products that you buy.

Men's Dress Shoes Fashions

Bilal Babic

The dress shoe may seem uninteresting, but it is anything but.
In an age when tennis shoes and sneakers are worn all around,
men's dress shoes may not be as popular, but they display the
distinctness within those that are severe and the posers. There
is a big array of styles, and it revolves on what you are
looking for. Men's dress shoes go from borderline casual to very
deluxe, and can adapt to any situation. It appears that leather,
canvas, and suede are all highly used components for men's dress
shoes.

Men's dress shoes that people picture are the monotonous black
shoes with thin laces that we all learned to dread as kids.
However, dress shoes have changed a lot since then. The big
difference is that the sole has undergone some alterations,
going away from the wooden and plastic soles to rubber ones,
allowing for more comfort. Also, there are more models
available, with wingtips and penny-loafers making a revival.
What styles are popular this summer can be read here: href="http://www.mensflair.com/news-trends/summer-dress-shoes-tre
nd.php"
target="_blank">http://www.mensflair.com/news-trends/summer-dress
-shoes-trend.php.

The dress shoe has been approved to dress down, with some shoes
being derived from moccasins. However, Italian shoes still
continue to reign, with New York and London being close. As
sneakers become more popular, they have been mixed with more
moderate men's dress shoes to create blends; although looked
down, they are becoming popular with fashionable styles.

Also of note are dress versions of sandals, which are catching
on as more people take on more holistic lifestyles. Even though
not a dress shoe, but that they are being worn in more formal
settings is of note, as well as the controversy that they have
actualised in regards to formal wear, especially as "tribal"
fashions come and go in fashion circles, and New Age beliefs
continue to take hold. It will be interesting to see if sandals
ever crossover from women's fashion, or will be a really male
footwear.

It is interesting to note that wingtips and penny-loafers are
fashionable due to a shift of nostalgia. As more modern styles
become attainable, new designers are continually trying to
update the classics, if for no other cause than to see what
modern materials can do to old classics. At the same time, boots
are also being taken more seriously than in past, possibly due
to an interest in western music and Texas' rise in popularity.
These dress boots are made of different leather than usual
boots, as well as having more apparent needlework.

In short, there are an expansive variety of dress shoes
available, and it is up to you what style you will wear, from
the conventional to almost fun.

Nike Air Force Ones

Emma Drosy

In 1983 the Nike shoe company released a plain white sports shoe
called the Nike Air Force One. Nothing in particular was special
about the design or make of the shoe, save that it was a quality
sneaker intended for sportswear in a market where good sneakers
were growing in popularity. Following the release of the white
Nike Air Force One came other colors but still a middling
success. Then in 1986 Michael Jordan took to the courts sporting
red and black Nike Air Force Ones. Almost over night the
popularity of the shoe boomed.

With prices ranging from $70 to $80 for the standard white or
black Nike Air Force One and up to $300 for customized colors
and logos this modest shoe has continued to hold a market share
ever since.

Corresponding with the release and growth in popularity of the
Nike Air Force One shoes was the growth of the Hip Hop movement
and the growing popularity of Hip Hop clothing. Hip-hop fashion
had begun to gain a foothold in the late seventies and continued
to climb as a major culture and fashion through out the
eighties. Marked by clothing with a distinctly African American
influence the early Hip Hop fashion included the wearing of
large glasses, gold necklaces, rings on many fingers, oversized
clothing in pallets of red, black and green and an emphasis on
brand name footwear that was comfortable and reflective of
personal style.

The Nike Air Force Ones became very popular as a brand of
footwear within the Hip Hop fashion culture. Bright colored with
over sized laces, or white sneakers peaking out from under
overlong pants Nike Air Force Ones maintained their hold on the
Hip Hop market through the late eighties, nineties and continue
to hold a strong place now. Whether high top, low cut or
standard height these shoes that were once mostly for sporting
uses are now a casual wear footwear seen on the streets and in
the classroom as well as on the basketball court.

Currently there are many stores that sell the brand name Nike
Air Force Ones, prices ranging from $70 upward, averaging out a
bit over $100. In order to combat these prohibitive prices
online websites such as urbanhotlist.com have appeared, offering
discounted prices on these shoes as well as other popular brand
names.

There are both advantages and disadvantages when it comes to
working with an online sales site, like urbanhotlist.com. There
is access to a much broader base of merchandise, in this case
additional colors and styles of shoes that might not be
available in stores and pricing can be kept reasonable, even
after shipping and handling. For these reasons, among others,
websites like urbanhotlist have become popular with consumers.
Customers must be sure to get a good refund policy before
placing an order, so that any defects or sizing problems can be
easily addressed.

As long as this movement continues it seems that Nike will have
a hit with their Nike Air Force One shoes and consumers will
have places to go to get what they want for the price they want
to pay.

Formal Wear - A Man's Guide To Dressing With Style

sacha Tarkovsky

When dressing formally all you need to follow some basic easy
rules and you will instantly have a stylish classic.

The right look with formal wear for a man is easy, if you follow
the tips below:

The suit

The suit is very important and is the building block of your
formal look.

1. Style

You can't go wrong with a single-breasted suit. Solid colors
should be used such as black, grey or dark blue

A single-breasted suit will make you look slimmer and leaner a
double breasted one will make you look fatter - So this is the
safe best option.

A stylish suit can present a multitude of images, all of them
good!

A suit can have various looks it can make you look in control,
dynamic, mature, conservative, or even sexy! Women love the look
and you will do when you doing it correctly

2. Fabrics / Patterns

Wool is a good option to buy. With care It will always look
good, wears well and their variety to choose from. Worsted wools
by nature are lightweight and ideal for the warmer months.

Gabardine wools are heavier and will keep you warm in the
winter. Wool Crepes are lightweight with softer finishes.
Flannel wools are heaviest.

With regard to patterns for formal suits these are limited to
solids, stripes (pinstripe, chalk stripe, beaded-stripe,
multistripe) plaids, and checks (hounds-tooth, windowpane and
herringbone).

The Shirt

Men with lean faces should choose collars that are wide, to help
broaden their faces; on the other hand, men with wider faces
should wear collars that are narrow to help to give the image of
a longer face.

Ties

Today, formal wear does not necessarily mean having to wear a
tie. You will see people such as Bill Gates and Richard Branson
not wear ties and it's perfectly acceptable.

However, wearing a tie can add a real focal point to your look
and if you choose correctly a collar and tie looks great

If you want to make a strong statement wear a patterned tie with
a patterned shirt, make sure that the colors are the same and
that the patterns go in the same direction.

Don't forget the Length it's very important where your tie
finishes:

It should hit the top of your belt buckle and t he ideal width
of ties is between 3 and 4 inches.

Combining Tie's Shirts & Suits

When choosing a jacket-shirt-and-tie trio, match its level of
color contrast to your complexion and hair color.

If you're coloring is one of high-contrast i.e. dark hair and
light skin, or vice versa--your jacket, tie, and shirt combo
should be high contrast, too.

If your hair-hide contrast is softer and lighter i.e. you're
blond or gray-haired with pale skin, or dark-skinned with dark
hair--you need to wear clothing with a lower contrast.

When you're wearing two like patterns in the jacket-shirt-tie
triangle, they should be of different gauges.

If your suit has pinstripes 3/4 inch apart, your tie should have
significantly broader or thinner bands. If your suit is a
striped one (with lines more than an inch apart), your shirt's
stripes then should be narrower.

If for example, you wear two different designs within the lapel
triangle a checked shirt and a striped tie, or a striped suit
and a medallion tie--They need to be different scales in size If
your shirt has a narrow stripe, your tie needs to be the
opposite. Deflect

Choose clothes that deflect attention from your extremes in
terms of your body.

If you're short, look for strong vertical lines such as
pinstriped suits, two-button jackets. If on the other hand
you're thin, choose a jacket with wider shoulders. If you are of
a heavier build then Wear darker colors that are monotone from
top to bottom.

Watches

With regard to accessories this is the only one you really need.
A watch which has a large face are seen by everyone as stylish.

Forget earrings medallions and lots of rings! The only accessory
a man needs is a watch the others should not be worn, rings can
be if subtle and only a few.

belts

You want to buy quality and this doesn't have to be expensive.

Your belt color should be coordinated with your footwear and
suit - black with black, brown with brown.

Shoes

Black is the traditional safe color for work but Brown and ox
blood can also look stylish.

You can also use a variety of styles including loafers,
wingtips, round-toe, or the trendy pointy-tipped shoe.

Don't economize on quality. For men, shoes are the final touch
and are one of the things that most people will notice great
suit and look and scuffed or dirty shoes! - Don't make this
mistake

So there you have it. Follow the guidelines above and you will
look the business, feel good and get admiring glances from women
as well as a bonus!

Boot Cut vs. Tapered: The Best Jeans?

Brian Johansson

When it comes to finding the perfect pair of jeans comfort is
everything. You should ideally be looking for the perfect mix of
style and comfort. Jeans need to look good but more importantly
feel good. When it comes to selecting a pair I think it is
always best to go to several stores that specialize in denim and
try on a few pairs until you find what works for you. One of the
important aspects of a pair of jeans is whether or not they will
work with the rest of your wardrobe. Your choice of shoes can
dictate how wide you want the ankle of your jeans to be cut.

Boot cut jeans are jeans that fit normally throughout the rest
of the jean, but the ankle of the jean is cut wider to allow
them to sit lower and more comfortable over a pair of shoes.
Tapered jeans are cut with a slimmer ankle that is tighter as
the leg goes down. If you are looking for a more comfortable
look that is cut to be worn with many of today's shoe styles you
may want to look into boot cut jeans. Since jeans are becoming
more acceptable in the business world they are often being worn
with dressier shoes and need to be a little wider to allow for
the shoes to look natural with the jeans. Tapered jeans tend to
be more traditional looking and are popular especially in women.
Most men's jeans are being cut a little wider to sit more
comfortably without feeling constricted. Some men still choose
to go with tapered jeans if they often wear taller boots.

Whatever your decision make sure to try on several pairs from
several different companies before making your decision.
Remember to think about your wardrobe when making your decision.

Sexy Shoes

John White

What makes a pair of shoes sexy shoes? It has a lot to do with
the way the shoes fit, feel and the look that they provide to
those looking. Sexy shoes are something that all women should
have at least at some point in their lives. Just like having
that sexy black dress, the shoes can do the same thing. When you
wear them, you will feel more confident, more beautiful as well
as more amazing. Simply slip a pair on and see what it feels
like. You'll never go back.

What makes a shoe sexy, though? First off, it should be
something that you enjoy wearing. You'll want to make sure that
you are both physically and emotionally prepared for this shoe.
On the physical note, you'll want to make sure the shoe fits
just right. It should not be too tight where the foot is bulging
out the top or sides. It should not be so loose, though, as it
could come flying off if you kicked it. On the emotional level,
a shoe is sexy when you feel that it is. For example, if you
walk confidently and proudly, the shoe and your entire being
will be sexy. If you stumble around, no matter what type of shoe
you put on, it will not look at all sexy.

What They Look Like

What do sexy shoes look like? In many cases, the first thing
that comes to mind is a high healed, black strap shoe. It can
have straps that wrap part way up the leg. It can be a pointed
toe, shiny or dull. It can be any look or feel that you love,
though. For many, a sexy shoe can be a flat too. For others it
can be something that has a lot of color and a trendy look. The
only rule for it to be a sexy shoe is that you need to feel as
if it is the sexy look that you are after.

Throughout the web you will find some very amazing shoes.
You'll find those that are obviously sexy and those that are
just devilish. They are available in all sizes, colors, and
styles to fit your specific tastes. You'll love the way that you
feel, the way that you look and the way that others look at you
when you are wearing a sexy shoe like this. If you plan to go
out on the town tonight, the best way to complete that great
looking black dress is with a sexy shoe.

Mens Dress Shoes

John White

Men's dress shoes say a lot about the man that is wearing them.
There are many styles and looks that are excellent no matter
what level of work they are in. But, having just the right pair
of dress shoes on a guy can make that man, well, just more
professional, elegant and sophisticated looking. Yes, you can be
one of the many that actually finds himself looking for a great
pair of shoes. These will be shoes you will want to stop and
have shined in fact.

One mistake many people make when purchasing men's dress shoes
is that they are looking for a shoe that is great looking. Sure,
you would like the shoe to look amazing, but before you choose
based on looks alone, you need to give your feet the opportunity
to try them on. Now, when you are looking for men's shoes on the
web, you can not easily do this. Yet, many of the manufacturers
on the web will actually allow you to send them back if they are
not the right size or do not feel the way that you would like
them to. So, you do have this option.

Comfort Counts

If you are wearing a pair of men's dress shoes and they are not
comfortable, just imagine the look on your face when you are
walking in them. If our feet are not happy, the rest of us are
not either. What you will want to do, then, is to purchase shoes
that are well fitted for your feet. One of the best ways to do
this is to do it with the custom made designers. Dress shoes
that are custom made are ideal because they will feel completely
comfortable throughout the time that you wear them.

Quality Too

Quality counts in dress shoes as well. You should spend a
decent amount of money on the dress shoes that you choose. If
they are poor quality they are less likely to last you. While
they may cost you less right now, in the long run, they will
cost more because you will need to replace them or, even worse,
you'll have medical problems with your feet because of them.
Look for high quality men's dress shoes and you will be far
better off. They should support your feet completely.

Choosing the right pair of men's dress shoes does not need to
be difficult. You can even do it right on the web and completely
avoid all of those other people out there that are trying to
push shoes on to you. Look for what you love, when you want to
and get the very best choice for your feet.

Ballroom Dancing-Let's Talk Shoes

Honey Wesley

Ballroom dancing, like most other sports, (and if you don't
believe it's a sport, get out there and do swing dancing for an
hour or so and see if you don't work up a sweat) has it's own
'uniform' of sorts, including the style of clothing as well as
the type of shoes worn. That varies, of course, depending on
whether you're going to class, a studio dance or a competition.

I often hear the question - 'What kind of shoes should I wear to
dance in? It's my opinion that the very best choices for
footwear are those designed especially for ballroom dancing and
even more specifically for the exact dance style you plan to be
doing. But until such time as you decide to reward yourself with
that sexy strappy Latin shoe with the Cuban heel for the cha-cha
or rhumba, or a gorgeous sequined number for the elegant waltz,
practicing in street shoes is perfectly acceptable.

Now...having said that, let me quickly add that not just any
street shoe will do. Styles that should be avoided include
anything with rubber soles, like sneakers, (they just don't give
you the slide you need on the floor), open-toes (for obvious
reasons, you're still learning and chances are so is your
partner), such as sandals or (heaven forbid) flip-flops! And
yes, I've actually seen people show up for class wearing flip
flops! Try to execute a double spin in those!

But, if you have a leather soled shoe, such as a loafer-type, or
for men, a dress shoe style, these will usually accomodate you
nicely. The most important factor is that they must be
comfortable and not tight on your feet. If your feet are aching,
you'll soon be unable to focus on anything else.

The dance floor itself plays a part in the comfort level of your
feet. Some studios have the proper flooring for dancing, which
usually includes a cushiony, almost spring-like underflooring.
This type floor enables dancers to dance for hours without
feeling much effect...IF their shoes are also adequately
comfortable. But some dance studios are built on a concrete
slab, with only a layer of hardwood over it, and on those floors
your poor feet will take a pounding.

When the time comes that you decide to invest in a good pair of
dance shoes, shop around a bit. Prices and styles vary and the
selection is almost endless. Prices can range from $30-50 on the
low end to well over $200 on the high end. Dance shoes are
designed not only to be best suited for dancing, but to enhance
the overall aesthetics of your dance...you'll simply look better
out there on the floor.

Many of the features of dance shoes serve practical purposes.
The ankle straps are not just eye-appealing, they actually help
your feet stay firmly in your shoes. Some of the pump styles
have elasticized rims on the uppers which 'hugs' the shoe to
your foot. The heels are different heights and widths, depending
on the style of dance they're designed for. The soles are
typically suede, which gives you the ability to literally
'glide' as you dance across the floor, and are especially
helpful when doing turns and spins.

To preserve the life of these suede soles, dance shoes should
never be worn outside. Two other accessories that will extend
the wear of your dance shoes - a carrying case for transporting
them, and a sole brush to lift the nap of the suede every couple
of weeks or so.

One final note - dance shoes (or any other shoe, for that
matter) should be tried on in the late afternoon or evening,
when your feet are typically at their largest. You'll be
requiring a lot of your feet over the span of your dancing
experience...treat them right, dress them properly and you'll
have a great foundation on which to build a lifetime of ballroom
dancing.

Birkenstocks - Comfortable Sandals That Are Good For Your Back

Helen Walters

Do you know where the term "footbed" comes from? Most people
have no idea that the term originated with the revolutionary
sandal maker Konrad Birkenstock a 19th century shoemaker from
Germany. Before Birkenstock shoes were all made with completely
flat soles and had no arch support. They developed a revolution
in shoe making by designing footwear that matched the actual
shape of a person's foot.

Initially their idea was sold as an insert to be used in other
shoes that had no shape. Their company took off as a major
manufacturer of orthopedic inserts. They were called "footbed
supports" and the term 'footbed' became a legal trademark of the
Birkenstock company.

As time went by they realized that their novel footbed support
concept could be extended into different types of footwear that
they could make themselves. The original sandals they developed
were intended to give the wearer a near barefoot experience
while still providing fantastic support and protection of the
wearer's sole. Little did they realize how much of a revolution
they would create in the shoe and footwear industry.

People quickly found that not only were they comfortable, but
they also helped greatly with many foot and back problems by
providing the arch support and proper fit that had been missing
in shoes and sandals to that point. Today Birkenstock sandals
and other footwear are frequently 'prescribed' by podiatrists as
part of normal care for people with foot, lower leg, and back
problems. In particular the 'heel-less sandals' are known to
greatly strengthen and tone calf muscles.

>From their humble beginnings as simple shoemakers, Birkenstocks
have become producers of some of the most recognized shoes and
sandals in the world. They are available in hundreds of styles,
materials and colours that will suit just about anyone's needs
and personality. And they have done it by sticking to their
basic philosophy: make them comfortable and make them last.

Women's Fashion Footwear: 9 Shoes You Must Have

Stephanie Pedersen

If you're like most women, you have dozens upon dozens of
sandals, sneakers, loafers, flip-flops, boots, and other
footwear. But how many of them do you love? Really love? How
many fit well, complement your fashion sense, and are versatile
enough to serve multiple purposes? Moreover, how many of these
shoes do you really need? You may be surprised to learn that the
following nine must-haves are the only styles required to create
a shoe wardrobe so all-encompassing, so perfect, that no matter
what the occasion is, you'll have just the right shoe.

1. Two or three pairs of expensive-looking shoes for a
work.
Study what your boss is wearing then get yourself two
great-looking pairs of similar shoes. Not only will you always
look appropriate and stylish. you'll always have a pair clean
and ready should one need to go to the cobbler. Need style
suggestions? Go with pumps. Not only are pumps flattering and
easy to wear, they are the quintessential woman's work shoes,
especially for those working in offices, banks, or upscale
shops. Opt for a dark or medium neutral. Think black, chocolate,
cordovan (an old-fashioned word for cherry-kissed brown), or
even burgundy, navy, or charcoal.

2. One warm-weather work shoe. Your best bet is a
two-part pump--or one with peep toes-- in a light shade such as
tan, beige or dove gray.

3. One pair of slingbacks in a neutral shade. They look
chic with straight skirts and classic-cut trousers. They can be
worn with bare legs or opaque winter stockings. Plus, they work
well with formal and near-formal wear, they add sophistication
to jeans, and instantly dress up a denim skirt and cardigan like
nothing else can.

4. One pair of strappy dress sandals to wear with formal or
semi-formal attire.
They can sex-up a pair of jeans, too.
Best colors: a mid-tone or pale neutral, including metallics
such as silver or gold.

5. One pair of neutral-colored casual shoes for weekends.
A woman can never go wrong with classics such as oxfords,
moccasins, loafers, or clogs.

6. One pair of attractive athletic shoes. They're
good-enough-looking for your Juicy Couture tracksuit, yet
hard-working enough to perform at the gym.

7. One pair of fashion boots in a medium or dark neutral.
Something classic enough for work-wear yet sexy enough to add an
edge to jeans and an everyday tee. Top-of-the-calf boots with a
flat heel are one of the cold weather season's hottest looks,
but are surprisingly in-demand even as the weather grows warmer.

8. Two or more pair of casual, warm weather shoes in a pale
neutral or fashion color.
Think sandals, ballet slippers, or
flip-flops done up in a dressy material like leather. Consider
yourself a die-hard fashionista? Find a pair of espadrilles with
a low to medium heel. Espadrilles are one of 2006's most coveted
warm-weather trends.

9. One pair of galoshes or other weather-protective
footwear.
If you spend a good amount of time outdoors, go
with two pairs . Be sure one is a classic style, such as Hunter
Wellingtons in navy, green, red, pink or pale blue.

So ladies, clean out your closets, and stop spending money on
shoes you don't absolutely love or that does not fit well,
complement your style and is not versatile to serve multiple
purposes. If you follow the above tips you will create a woman's
fashion footwear wardrobe, that no matter what the occasion is,
you will have the perfect shoe.

How to buy quality running shoes at a discount prices

Malcolm Silberman

One would think purchasing a pair of running shoes would be a
fairly simple matter. Sadly, or probably for the better, it has
become quite an involved process. I would suggest you visit a
local store before attempting to purchase online. The key aspect
is to understand your foot profile. In truth this is not a
difficult task and certainly doesn't need fancy computer
technology.

Visit and obtain your profile as far as arches type, strike type
and over prontaros. Once you have this information find you
category using the guide below;

-Motion control : for runners with low arches, moderate to
severe over pronators with maximum rear foot control and extra
support on the arch side of the shoe, eg. bigger runners.
-Stability : mild or moderate over pronators, low to normal
arches, shoes has a combination of good support and mid sole
cushioning. -Neutral cushioned: maximum mid sole cushioning and
minimum medial support, bio mechanically efficient runners, mid
foot or forefoot strikers with high or normal arches.
-Performance Training: for racing, generally lighter, if you are
bio mechanically efficient you can use them for training.

So that is step one in your process. Next is to establish how
and where you can find nicely discounted shoes, and also grasp a
basic insiders guide to the athletic shoe market.

The basic industry premise is that new product sells at a
premium as older models are off loaded through various channels.
Therefore you could hope for discounts on new items from 10% to
probably a maximum of 20% and all the way up to 40% on older
year models. However it is still possible to find discounts on
eBay on the newest styles, especially if they are very lightly
worn. Think about it, trying on and testing running shoes is
difficult at best. Therefore many runners discard a pair after a
first light run. There is a nice fluid market for both new and
slightly used running shoes on eBay.

With a large volume of most shoe brands being traded everyday,
this is the ideal efficient market. One can study the dynamics
of this micro-market and determine some useful buying rules.
With a little more information than the rest of the marketplace,
one can almost certainly make some intelligent buying
opportunities. This article focuses on how to identify these
gaps and often purchase running shoes for 20-40% below retail.

This article should be read together with my longer piece and a
web site, which produces the information required to identify
buying nuggets. Find the links and URL's to these two sites at
the bottom of this article. The niche site focuses specifically
and only on data from the runners shoe market.

Most information on eBay focuses on the selling element, i.e.
how to sell your shoes. I have tended to specialize on the
buying end and trying to identify market opportunities and price
in-efficiencies to really capture excellent deals. To do this we
need to understand the dynamics of the eBay market place. Like
any other market it is supply demand driven, and like a large
flee-market if a buyer has knowledge of how many items are for
sale at what prices and how many other buyers are in the market,
then that buyer can capture the upper hand. Lets focus a little
more on supply.

The eBay supply dynamic is a little different in that supply of
an item must be seen at a point in time. In other words, because
auctions end at different times, one needs to grasp the number
of auctions ending in close proximity for the same item. This
gives you a feel for the supply of items or in our case cameras.
What makes this interesting is that today there could be a large
amount of auctions ending for a particular model, but next week
there could be very few. This is one element driving the price.

The demand side is slightly more complex and hidden from the
average eBay buyer. This is where that the web site I refer to
at the bottom has some useful data. Demand in eBay terms is
measured (by sellers) as a number of factors - how many people
view my auction, how many people ask questions, how many people
place me on their watch page, and how many people actually bid.
Obviously as we progress down this list the data become more
reliable as an indication of demand. Page views are not easy to
obtain, although some sellers place a publicly viewable counter
on their auction pages. Questions and watchers are available to
sellers, and the special web site mentioned below will expose
this information. Number of bids is available for all to see.

Now if we happened to produce a graph as the auction progresses
of the changes in the number of questions, watchers and bid's
one can easily see how the demand is changing as time
progresses. Typically if questions are high and watchers are
high, but bids are low, this may indicate some confusion and a
possible buy opportunity. If watchers are very high and
climbing, but bids are low, this can point to a last minute
bidding war, and a stay out indicator.

Armed with this information and also a quick summary of other
similar auctions ending soon, plus a quick feel for the skill
set of the seller and the current highest bidder, one can see a
picture very different from the average eBay buyer. Soon the
trained eye will observe some nice buying opportunities. For the
professional or amateur runner this will soon bring in a number
of athletic shoe buys that are quite a bit cheaper than retail.
For example it is quite possible to find gems at 20-40% of
retail prices. Sometimes a lightly used athletic shoe will offer
some unique bargains and discounts, especially if you are
comfortable with a brand and model.

Priceless Tips For Finding The Perfect Basketball Shoe

David Huizar

What basketball shoe you wear is a crucial part of your game,
especially at the competitive level. Oh, sure you can play in
any pair of tennis shoes but you risk the chance of sliding,
being slowed down by weak grip or worse of all, injury.
Competitive ball players take their basketball shoes very
seriously. I know I do. In today's market there are so many
different styles of bball shoes. So how do you choose what's
best for your game? There are a few important things to look for
in your shoes. By nature, basketball puts a lot of wear and tear
on your shoes. All the constant starting, abrupt stopping, high
jumps and quick side-to-side movements really take it's toll. So
what do I look for in a basketball shoe? I'm glad you asked. The
most important factors are durability, support, traction,
comfort and for most ballers, style. DURABILITY: Have you ever
seen the movie "Like Mike"? Lil Bow Wow plays an orphan boy who
finds a pair of magic shoes with "MJ" written on the tongue. He
suddenly has super bball skills. Anyway, in the most important
game of the season "Calvin" drives the lane and gets fouled.
When he gets up his magic shoes have completely fallen apart.
Magic shoes or not you want to make sure that never happens to
you. Buy quality shoes. And yes, sometimes that means paying a
little more. SUPPORT: Different types of players require
different types of support. Power players like "Shaq" need high
tops with maximum ankle support and comfort. All-around players
like "Kobe" or "T-Mac" usually will wear a midsole type of shoe
and speedsters like "Iverson" wear low tops for light weight and
non-restriction of the ankles. TRACTION: Have you ever played on
the hardwood floor of a gym that didn't clean the floors? Your
slipping, sliding away and it's hard to cut and slice your way
to the hoop. Wearing the wrong shoes can have the some results.
You must be able to stop and start on a dime. Look for good
traction on both the forefoot and the heel. COMFORT: The goal is
to find a basketball shoe that fits like a glove. You don't want
your foot to be swimming in any area. Since the toes, arch and
heel all have different needs for comfort, you want a shoe that
provides comfort in each area and still provide the support you
need for your type of game. STYLE: And, of course, you gotta
look good on the court. Whether you're wearing the "Jordan
Retro", the "T-Mac 5", the "Air Zoom Kobe I" or either of the
"Answer 1 - 9" pair of shoes, style is definitely key. The
bottom line is you must think of your shoes as an investment in
your game. If you're looking to excel, then don't cheat yourself
when it comes to your gear, especially your shoes. The right
pair will not only help you play at top level but most
importantly help prevent injury. If you're hurt you can't play!
So go get some quality kicks and get out there and play!

What do Women Want - Ugg Boots

Allison Thompson

The Ugg Boot has become the latest fashion item that every
woman seems to want. Now days you will find that the window
displays of any clothing or shoe store across the world will
have a pair of these trendy boots in it. It looks like Ugg Boots
are here to stay. Although these boots are hot in fashion terms
you will find that people are not just wearing them when the
weather is cold. Many people have found that one pair of these
boots is just not enough. One of their greatest assets is that
they come in a multitude of different styles, size, fabrics and
colours. You also do not need to know someone living in
Australia to get you a pair, around the globe these are the best
selling boots at the moment and all you have to do is search the
internet and you will find countless sites selling them.
However, once you have got them then you will want to leave your
house to show them! With Ugg Boots being made in so many
different sizes you will find a pair for every member of your
family. They come in full and half sizes and any size in
between, all you need to do is be willing to spend the time
searching for the right pair for you. But there is no need to
worry as you will in time find the perfect pair for you.
However, the real problem you may have once you have found your
size is what colour do you want them in. There are the natural
colours (brown and sand) or you can be somewhat more daring, and
say go for a pink or blue pair. In fact the choice seems to be
endless where colour is concerned. You may find yourself
purchasing more than one pair, could you imagine owning several
different coloured pairs of Ugg Boots that would match your mood
perfectly. If you wanted to be noticed and shout here I am then
Red may be the ideal colour for you, but if you want people to
think you are sweet and girly, then may be you should buy pink.
However, if you just want them for comfort and to add a casual
look to your ensemble then try for a natural colour or even
black. Whatever you decide you may find that one pair is just
not enough. Now you have decided on the colour, the next think
you need to think about is the height of the boot, do you want a
short, long or three quarter length the choice is yours. The
decision has been made on colour and length, now what do you
need to choose? How about the style, many of the longer length
boots can be found with additional detail to the outside of the
boot and this seems to add a more feminine touch to the boot.
Whilst if you need a practical style of boot that will be warm
and comfortable you may want to look at the styles that have a
tough molded sole and have extra reinforcement to them in the
toe and heel areas. You can now get versions that come with
zippers, straps and elasticized sides which help to vary the
style and look of this footwear. Finally after all the decisions
made above you need to consider what sort of fabric you want
them made out of, as now not only do the Ugg Boots come in a
sheepskin version but they are also available in leather and
suede. However, don't forget that only high quality Ugg Boot are
always lined with Australian Merino Sheepskin, and try to avoid
the imitations that abound. One further little matter that any
right minded woman should be thinking about when purchasing
footwear not just Ugg Boots is the sole. With Ugg Boots you have
the choice of big and clunky or smooth soles. So as you can see
the choice of style, colour, size and material used just seems
to be endless and now with the inclusion of a slipper and a clog
version you are even more stuck for choice. So no matter what,
the "in" thing for your closet this year are Ugg Boots and you
are sure to find a pair that is within your budget.

Why Italian Shoes Really Are The Best Quality

Lucy Bartlett

Most of us consider shoes made or styled in Italy as the
ultimate in fashion. When we say Italian shoes it conjures a
picture of good craftsmanship, style and quality. Italian
designers are the most acclaimed footwear designers in the
world. The Italian designers perfectly understand the anatomy of
the leg and foot so they make shoes look their best.

Italian footwear is available in several varieties such as full
length boots, slip-ons, mid-calf boots, sandals, loafers and
wedges. When selecting Italian shoes, care should be taken to
avoid the tasteless, shiny and creaky shoes which many merchants
try to pass on as finest Italian shoes.

The Italians are still using the traditional methods of
shoemaking and tanning which indicates that good materials are
used for the lining and uppers which are hand sewn. Even though
such hand crafted shoes should cost higher than the shoes
produced on a large scale using machinery, due to the severe
competition from Far Eastern shoe makers who also offer hand
crafted shoes, the Italians are forced to offer good quality
shoes at cheaper prices without compromising on quality.

There are different styles of men's Italian shoes such as
handmade black leather Oxford shoes, black Italian Oxford dress
shoes, men's dark brown leather Oxford shoes, men's dark brown
lace-up shoes and brown calf leather Oxford shoes. The prices of
these shoes range from the low $330 to the high $560.

Brunori men's black Italian ankle strap boots are classic boots
with elastic gore insets. These black coloured shoes are made
from genuine leather and boast style, quality and fine
craftsmanship. When ordering these shoes, care must be taken to
select the correct size since the sizes run large. Select a size
smaller than your regular size for a good fitting. These shoes
are priced around $480

For casual wear but without foregoing the daytime classic style,
try the handmade Pakerson Today which are available in beige and
tan

For exclusive hand made shoes you can try Forzieri brown cap toe
dress shoes. These shoes combine the excellent traditional
craftsmanship with some new original designs. They are most
suitable for business meetings or for occasions which need a
stylish appearance. They are priced around $500.

For women, there are soft Italian leather boots with a luxurious
feel, side button and short zip available for only $150. These
ladies Italian shoes are available in three colours namely,
tobacco, brown and black.

The Quai D'Orsay pump shoes in black patent leather enhances its
dramatic flair and are meant for sophisticated and chic women.
The price range is around $160.

Best Shoes for Working Women

Leigh A. Zaykoski

All over the world, millions of women go to work each day and
come home with aching feet. If you're a working woman, choose a
pair of shoes that suits the type of work you perform and also
feels comfortable on your feet. The best shoes for working women
are those that are comfortable and practical.

Support Shoes

Support shoes are not just for the elderly anymore. Many women
now work at retail positions that require long days standing on
their feet with little opportunity to sit down and rest. Finding
a pair of support shoes can help save you from aches and pains
and will also help take some of the pressure off of your ankles,
legs, and back. If you wear a uniform, you can shop for a pair
of support shoes to match.

Slip-On Shoes

Slip-on shoes are the perfect shoes for women who have to walk
from one location to another frequently or who give
presentations standing on their feet. Slip-on shoes come in a
wide variety of styles and colors and have become more
fashionable over the years. You can find slip-on shoes to match
every outfit and handbag in your closet.

Safety Shoes

Women who work in hazardous conditions and areas such as
construction sites or warehouses should consider wearing safety
shoes while they work. While they may not be the most
fashionable shoes, you should consider your safety above all
else while on the job. Many safety shoes have steel toes or
other support built in for comfort and a reduction in the chance
you'll be injured while working.

Pumps

If you work in a business setting and must maintain a
professional appearance, a pair of classic pumps will be more
comfortable than some of the more extreme stiletto styles that
are popular today. Pumps may have a low or high heel and may
have padding inside the shoe to make them more comfortable.
Popular colors include black, taupe, navy, gray, and brown, but
you can find pumps to match almost every outfit possible.

Kitten Heels

If you just can't resist wearing heels, try wearing a pair of
kitten-heeled shoes. The small heels are easier to walk and
maintain your balance in than higher heels and are stylish at
the same time. It is important to remember any dress code that
is in place within your company and choose shoes that are
appropriate. If your dress code calls for no open-toed shoes,
don't choose a pair of kitten-heeled sandals.

Eco-Friendly Fashion Footwear: Cruelty Free Fashion Shoes

Sara Kubersky

Most Vegan women like myself dread of the thought that over 35
million beautiful, intelligent animals are killed just for their
fur or leather on their backs (and that's only the wintertime!),
but that doesn't stop us from being every bit as stylish as our
carnivorous counterparts. Except for the fact, that we only want
cruelty-free fashion, we have the same desire to collect dozens
upon dozens of sandals, sneakers, loafers, flip-flops, knee-high
boots, and other footwear for our shoe wardrobe. Ten years ago,
this would have been a challenge - one that would seem almost
impossible as all vegan shoes practically looked the same.

Nowadays, finding cruelty-free shoes isn't as hard as it sounds.
Now more than ever, companies are beginning to cater to those
with a cruelty-free fashion sense and are now offering a wider
variety to choose from. As this trend continues to emerge, the
only challenge you will have is figuring out how many shoes do
you really need. You'll have to begin asking yourself how many
of them do you really love, and how many fit well, complement
your fashion style and are versatile enough to serve multiple
purposes.

Here are 5 fall/winter fashion shoe styles to help you create
a cruelty-free shoe wardrobe so all encompassing, so perfect,
that no matter what the occasion is, you'll have just the right
eco-friendly shoe

1. One pair of weather-protective footwear.

If you could only buy one boot in your life, an eco-friendly,
air-seal range boot like the 14-Eye Boot from Vegetarian Shoes
is the one to go with. If you spend a good amount of time
outdoors, go with two pairs. Air-seal range boots sporting steel
tipped toe and a sole made from rubber tires will provide you
with that everlasting quality you need and want.

2. One or two pairs of fashion boots in a medium or dark
neutral.

These leather alternative boots are classic enough for work-wear
yet sexy enough to add an edge to jeans and an everyday tee.
Top-of-the-calf boots with a flat heel are one of the cold
weather season's hottest looks, but are surprisingly in-demand
even as the weather grows warmer. For those of you who love the
Engineer boots, but want something a little more fitted, the
Biker boots are perfect! When you're feeling a little "rebel",
wear them as biker boots. When your style is more classic
looking, just take off the buckle, instantly providing you with
simple, comfortable boots that go with everything.

3. One pair of chic looking boots

Almost knee high boots like the Aurora, give you a chic look
with straight skirts and classic-cut trousers. They can be worn
with bare legs or opaque winter stockings. Plus, they work well
with formal and near-formal wear, they add sophistication to
jeans, and instantly dress up a denim skirt and cardigan like
nothing else can. You can also get the same look with Alta style
that is only 11" from the top of the shoe to the bottom of this
eco-friendly fashion footwear. The upper is made from the
highest quality synthetic micro-fibers while the lining is
usually comprised of extremely soft synthetic micro-fibers or
fleece.

4. One pair of neutral-colored casual boots for the
weekend

A woman can never go wrong with classics such as the Amy boot.
Your weekend casual cruelty-free boot should have an extremely
soft and flexible sole making it extremely comfortable for all
day wear. Make sure your casual eco-friendly boots exteriors are
made of "leather" like synthetic micro-fibers giving you that
stylish look, while the interior is made of a soft cotton lining
and a generous foot bed that will accommodate your feet.

5. One pair of attractive non-leather sneakers.

The fall time is the perfect time to run around the track at
your nearby park, and enjoy your surroundings. Whether your
eco-friendly non-leather sneakers are made from hemp or
synthetic micro-fibers, they are go well with your tracksuit,
yet hard-working enough to perform at the gym. The best
athletic/sporty shoes are the pairs that have an extremely
supportive EVA sole, and a thick padded tongue.

.

If you follow the above tips you will create the perfect
eco-friendly fall/winter woman's fashion footwear wardrobe, that
no matter what the occasion is, you will have the perfect
non-leather shoe. Remember, no one can have fashion without
compassion.

Custom Made Shoes

Joe Hanoa

Most people buy ready made shoes. They walk into a store, try
on the different styles, and pick out what they want. Not all
people buy shoes this way. Some people have them designed and
made exclusively for them. There are quite a few places that can
be found on the internet that allow people to order custom made
shoes. When you buy custom made shoes, they are tailored to your
feet. Many people have feet that are not the same size. Or they
have had surgery that resulted in this situation. Other people
just like the idea of having their shoes custom made. Instead of
buying the pair of shoes that cause the least amount of
discomfort, they pay more for the custom made shoes that fit
properly and have no discomfort. Each shoe is made to fit the
shape of each foot. This way when you walk you don't have one
shoe that is too tight or slipping off.

If you like deerskin shoes, there is an online website called
Footwear by Footskins that offers custom made shoes and slippers
for both men and women at very affordable prices. These custom
made shoes can be ordered online. They have detailed
instructions for measuring and tracing both feet. You follow the
directions and send them the information and they will custom
make the shoes to fit your feet. The cost of custom made shoes
to your feet's specifications is an additional $35 to $55
dollars to the price of their stock shoes. This is not a big
price to pay for proper fit and comfort.

Another website allows the consumer to build their own shoe. It
is called Sexy Shoe Siren. Here again, you follow the direction
for measuring your feet and send the tracings and other relevant
information to them. You design the shoe yourself in terms of
style, heel height, sole thickness, color, straps, adornments,
etc. This is true for both men and women. You can design shoes
for special occasions like weddings or Halloween. You can also
design your fantasy shoe. The prices for their stock shoes are
under $100 per pair. The made to order shoes are more expensive
depending on what you order.

Custom made shoes are a good idea for people who have hard to
fit feet and have a problem finding shoes that are comfortable.
They are affordable and allow people to purchase properly
fitting shoes.

Women's Outdoor Footwear - Outdoor

Dana Bradley

There is a huge range of footwear variety in the show rooms this
season. You can enjoy your outdoor trips with the latest styled
outdoor footwear. Different kinds of shoes may fit to different
people but when it comes to women, one has to be real specific
about each and every little detail before giving an option to
the fairer sex. From high-class parties to the beach or maybe a
casual shopping trip, ladies are very much particular about
their footwear because it distinguishes them from any body else.
The new season has arrived and there is a hell lot of outdoor
footwear especially for women. Apart from the casual outdoor
footwear, there are many new chic outdoor shoes for divas who
are interested in sports like hiking, mountaineering, climbing,
and running.

If you are thinking about a beach party then, just think about
the comfort zone a flip flop can offer to you. It is a simple
flexible rubber sole with a pair of soft leather things that
hold on to your feet giving you a fine soothing touch. Whether
your outdoor beach trip is about playing volley ball or just
swimming, sport sandals in any case is always a good choice.
There are many makes and models this season to choose from. Just
visit your nearest shoe store to grab the latest hot styles this
season.

And in case you are a sporting lady, then for an enthusiast like
you, some hard climbing shoes will do the work. They are really
great for those mountain visits with their excellent rock
gripping ability for climbing. There is a whole new lot of these
types of outdoor shoes in the shoe malls near by. The soles of
these shoes are made out of a flexible hard rubber and more
closely bear a resemblance to a climbing shoe than a hiking
shoe. These shoes will serve the right purpose for a lady while
doing all that mountaineering stuff with a comfortable yet solid
footing for their delicate feet.

For the most of us, any shoe will work for the gym, but when it
comes to ladies footwear it has to be perfect. The best and the
most stylish you can flaunt at the gym are of bright colors with
stripes that have been recently launched by the Adidas ladies
footwear range.

Therefore, just grab your outdoor footwear now from the shelves
or you may be late to catch up with the latest styles.

The popular Game football and select Football Cleats that fit

Subhash Kumar

The story of football began sometime during the 19th century in
England when a soccer player, frustrated at using only
his feet to manipulate the ball, decided to simply pick it up
and run with it. Although it was clearly against the rules of
soccer, other players soon found the new way of playing soccer
appealing and thus, the sport of rugby was born.

Football was still mainly href="http://www.halfvalue.com/searchResultsAllBHVOA.jsp?keywords
=American+rugby&type=Blended"> American rugby --much
different from the popular sport known today. Over the course of
three years starting in 1880, Yale player Walter Camp eventually
convinced the IFA to change a series of rules in football to
create a game that is very similar today. For that, Camp is
considered by historians as the father of modern football.

Football cleat sizing

Buy football cleats that match your shoe size for the most
comfortable fit.

Types of football cleats

You'll find molded cleats and detachable cleats on halfvalue.

* Molded cleats: Players who use turf fields often
choose molded rubber cleats, which get a better grip on harder
surfaces. * Detachable cleats: Versatile detachable
football cleats work in various field conditions, especially
grass.

Football cleat styles

Football cleats come in three different heights to satisfy
different needs and preferences.

* High-top football cleats: High-top football cleats
provide extra ankle support for lateral movements and are often
used by linemen.

* Mid-cut football cleats: Mid-cut football cleats
combine maneuverability with support, making them the preferred
style for most skill players.

* Low-cut football cleats: Low-cut football cleats are
your best bet if you favor the lightest shoe with the most
maneuverability.

Women's Boat Shoes Guide

David Evermon

If you are thinking "hey I don't have a boat", keep in mind that
these shoes are not just for wearing on a deck anymore. It is
true that woman's boat shoes are also known as deck shoes, but
today you will see them just as much on the streets in the city
and on campus as you will at your local marina.

Originally, women's boat shoes were manufactured to be worn
while out boating or sailing. The original Indian moccasins
because of their low profile, the water-repellent hide and the
lacings on the sides for fit probably inspired them. Today's
women's boat shoes and their construction with rubber soles and
water repellent or, at the least, less water absorbent leather
uppers make them perfect for a day on the water.

Today's manufacturers also offer a variety of colors and styles.
This is making it a shoe that falls between an informal dress
shoe and the ultimate casual shoe. So today, even with the
obvious practicality of women's boat shoes, if you do go sailing
or boating, it doesn't mean they are only used on the water.
They have become a major part of European women's wardrobes and
a major player in the preppy style of North America. Women's
boat shoes are now being purchased by anyone who is dressing
casual. They are stylish in any situation that does not require
formal attire. A word of advice is that they are considered just
a 3 season shoe. They are not normally worn in the winter. You
can wear women's boat shoes with or without socks, which make
these woman's boat shoes very versatile. Some manufacturers will
include a sock pad to add cushioning for those who do prefer the
traditional no sock look.

A high quality women's boat shoe is not going to be inexpensive
and should last for several years with proper maintenance. The
prices for a quality shoe will range from $39 dollars to as much
as $170 dollars.

Speaking of maintenance, a women's boat shoe is designed to
handle adverse conditions on the water. You may think that they
do not need to be kept up but this is far from the truth. In
between wearings, quality oil should be applied to the leather
uppers occasionally. This helps keep the leather soft, flexible
and water-resistant. The insoles should be sprayed with an anti
fungal / bacteria spray and allowed to air dry. If the rubber
soles should become worn you need to replace or repair them.

Today, even women who have never been on a boat or, for that
matter, near the water are being attracted to the casual style
offered by the women's boat shoe. Fashion experts state that
these sporty shoes can be worn with any of today's casual
attire. The only time they advise wearing a loafer instead would
be in a more business type casual setting. This rule is not iron
clad as it will depend somewhat on your ensemble of choice.
Aided by more contemporary styling and multiple colors, today's
woman is able to stand out more with women's boat shoes then was
possible with the plain original style and color.

Budget Shoes: Are They Worth It?

Leigh A. Zaykoski

Many stores are dedicated to offering shoes at a fraction of the
cost of other shoe stores and department stores. However, you
must think carefully about buying discount shoes and select a
pair that meets your needs and also appeals to your sense of
fashion. Here are some things to watch out for when buying shoes
in a discount store.

The first thing you need to watch out for when selecting a pair
of discounted shoes is the cushioning available in the shoe.
More expensive brands tend to have more padding to support the
foot, while the inner part of discount shoes is often thin and
provides little support and comfort. When you try on shoes, be
sure to walk around the store to gauge the level of padding in
the shoes you are considering so that you don't make a purchase
that will make you uncomfortable.

Decorations or ornaments that are found on shoes are often very
cheaply made on shoes that can be found at discount stores.
Bows, beading, and other embellishments are often made from
inexpensive materials and are not sewn onto the shoes properly.
This can result in a pair of shoes that loses some of its
decorations after only a few wears. To guard against this, be
sure to examine shoes before you purchase them. Tug on the
embellishments to simulate getting caught on something to see if
they come loose or fall off of the shoe easily. If they do,
don't purchase that particular pair of shoes.

Another thing to consider when purchasing a pair of shoes at a
discount shoe store is the style of shoes available. Because
department stores purchase directly from manufacturers, they are
able to sell the latest styles and fashion trends. Discount shoe
stores may have outdated styles that are no longer in fashion.
Check out the selection of shoes available while you shop and
compare them with the styles available at other stores to see if
it is worthwhile to make your purchase at the discount store.

The material used to manufacture the shoes sold at discount
stores is often inexpensive and less sturdy than the material
used in brand name shoes. Instead of leather, you may find
yourself trying on a pair of imitation leather shoes. If you
don't mind wearing less expensive items, you still need to check
the shoes because these materials are often lower in quality
than brand name shoes and will not hold up to regular wear and
tear. Examine the stitching and make sure there is no loose
thread hanging from the shoes. Also examine the shoes for any
scuffs or scratches.

If you follow the above advice when you are shopping at a
discount shoe store, you'll save time and money by avoiding a
purchase that will not last long enough to justify the money
spent.

Having The Right Aerobic Wear Is Very Important

Jenny Riley

If you are an exercise freak and relish your participation in
aerobics classes, then you are probably informed that an ill
fitting aerobic wear can impede your exercise movements. Most
people pay lip service to the issue, but the reality is aerobic
wear is an integral part of aerobic workout and donning the
wrong apparel is an open invitation to discomfort and irritation.

When you set out to buy clothing items for your aerobic classes,
ensure you buy loose fitting outfits that allow for free
airflow. A tight and binding aerobic wear impede movements and
will eventually make the workout ineffective.

Some folks simply like to wear sweat suit for their aerobic
sessions. There is no problem with this since the aerobic wear
is made from light materials, but if you really want to turn out
in style even for an event like an aerobic session, then you
choose from the several types of aerobic wears that are designed
to add panache to your exercise.

Numerous forms of this type of outfit exist in several styles,
colors and designs. A visit to a sports shop will avail you the
opportunity to sort through many the array of aerobic wear. And
pieces to add to your collection include shirts, shorts, pants,
tank shirts and shoes. All these items must fit comfortably, and
must be of materials that permit free flow of air.

For people who use common size, you can go online and check
through the numerous options provided, and it is now common
practice to find online vendors that offer buy one get one free
sales specials, in addition to cost free delivery. Indeed there
is no better place to shop for your aerobic wear.

The items can be bought separately, or as doubles or trios. The
advantage you get by making single pieces is the freedom to mix
or match your favorite color themes, but if you are not fashion
conscious, then simply go for a single set. An aerobic wear sets
consists of matching tops and bottoms, and some may come with a
matching lightweight jacket. Endeavor to see that some of the
pieces are in neutral colors, as this will permit you to
periodically include new aerobic wears as used pieces become too
worn to be used.

One item you must not forget when shopping is the shoe, because
they are very crucial to the exercise program. Select well
fitting aerobic wear shoes that are specifically designed for
aerobics, although they don't come cheap, it will be money well
spent, because they will protect your feet from getting sore.

You don't need to wear dull and drab apparel for your workouts,
but neither must you spend a fortune on one. One wise shopping
trip will help you accomplish the right objective: a trendy,
inexpensive aerobic wear collection that will make your workouts
pleasurable.

Experts Question Flip-Flops In The Workplace And Their Effect On

Jody Feinstein

Women are wearing flip flops in the workplace more and more,
especially in these warmer months. U.S. style experts believe
that flip flops could be damaging not only our feet but our
careers.

There are so many new styles of flip flops: beaded, leather,
sequins that women feel it is easy to get away with wearing them
to work.

An employee of West Glenn Communications comments that she wears
flip-flops on the days she doesn't have important meetings with
clients or avoids wearing them if she knows that someone who
disapproves will be in the office.

Thousands of women across the country consider flip-flops an
indispensable element in their summer wardrobe.

An Old Navy and Gap online survey showed that flip-flops were at
the top of the list as summer work attire for high school and
college students. More than 31 % of the women surveyed said that
flip-flops were essential part for their summer work wardrobe.

Many companies feel differently.

A spokeswoman for BNP Paribas says that if a dress code says no
beachwear this includes flip flops.

Style experts advise that flip-flops could be detrimental to a
career. Younger women are the ones who tend to wear them to work.

Style commentator Meghan Cleary says, "Shoes convey the mood of
a woman. Wearing flip-flops conveys the mood that you are
relaxed and on vacation. That's not a good message in the
office,"

Doctors also have concerns about the effect of flip-flops on the
feet.

Doctors at the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons say
that flip-flops are connected to a rising number of heel
problems among teens and young adults.

A representative recently said, "We're seeing more heel pain
than ever in patients 15 to 25 years old, a group that usually
doesn't have this problem." She said that thin soled flip-flops
give no arch support and can intensify abnormal biomechanics in
foot motion. This will ultimately cause pain and inflammation.

Flip-flops have been around for at least 70 years, originating
from traditional Japanese woven, and possibly wooden soled
sandals in New Zealand.

The Y-shaped and flat soled sandal is known all over the world
and to all social classes. It is very common in developing
countries for its affordable price and sometimes the only shoe
used because it is easy to make.

The term "flip-flop" gets its name from the slapping sound the
sandal makes when it hits the ground and the heel.

A few years ago the life of the flip flop changed completely.
They became trendy and popular. All kinds of stores sell them in
a variety of colors with all kinds of decorations. There is even
a bridal Flip flop which is full of Swarovski crystals and sells
for $140.

In June 2005 the Northwestern University's champion woman's
lacrosse team wore flip-flops to the White House to meet the
President. It was considered inappropriate attire and the women
were criticized

Ellen Campuzano, president of the Committee of Color and Trends,
a New York-based forecasting service specializing in footwear
and accessories, believes that flip-flops' popularity has almost
run its course.

"Usually these trends come and go in about five years," she
said. "I think we've reached the peak. They can't be any more
widespread, so maybe next summer something will replace them."

The Beginners Guide To Golf Attire And Style

Willie Jones

Golf is a major sport all over the world and is not likely to go
away any time soon. It is often said to be the rich mans sport
because it is an expensive hobby or occupation. But that doesn't
mean anyone is excluded by any means.

If you want to learn this wonderful sport and meet people that
have the same interests as you then golf is a great sport to
take up. Like any other sport golf takes a lot of trial and
error but it is through the bad grips and swings and landing in
the dreaded sand pits or ponds that you develop your game.

At the same time that you are learning the game itself, it would
be wise to learn about golf attire and style. In any sport you
take up there is a distinctive style and code of dress. If you
take up horse back riding then cowboy boots and hats are the
order of the day. In English riding the code of dress is
completely different. If you take up tennis then the short white
skirts serve to maximize ones game.

Each code of dress is not just for style alone but serves a
practical service. In western riding the hat keeps the sun out
of your eyes. The English riding attire is designed for comfort
and ease of movement but has extra padding where the most
chaffing occurs. In tennis the short skirts allow for maximum
movement while white or light colored fabric deflects the sun
and keeps you cooler. So it is with golf as well.

The style and quality of fabrics for golf has changed over the
years. You rarely see the knickers and the colorful knee length
socks any more. But who knows, at some future date it may come
back in style. Old styles are often brought back to fashion.

The current golf attire is designed for the most part for warm
temperatures. For this reason a good golf shirt must keep
moisture and perspiration away from the skin while ate the same
time maximizing comfort and sanitary conditions. One is after
all outside for hours at a time.
